Town Hall - Emergency Services
The Alberton Fire Department was formed in 1876. The Department proudly serves the Town of Alberton and the surrounding area with approximately 30 members and 5 vehicles. They are fully equipped with all modern communication, rescue, and fire equipment.
Police protection for Alberton is provided through a contract with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The RCMP detachment is located in Rosebank, just eight kilometers from downtown Alberton. The RCMP provides all types of policing services from Community Based Policing Programs to criminal investigation.
Emergency ambulance service for all of Prince Edward Island is provided by Island EMS. They offer 24-hour emergency service and have a base located on Church Street in downtown Alberton.
Reporting an Emergency
Contacting one of the above organizations in the event of an emergency can be simply done with the use of the Provincial 911 system.
Emergency Measures Organization
The Emergency Measures Organization provides Prince Edward Island with an emergency management system for the protection of persons, property and the environment in response to emergencies and disasters.
