Emergency Services

The Alberton Fire Department was formed in 1876. The Department proudly serves the Town of Alberton and the surrounding area with approximately 30 members and 5 vehicles. They are fully equipped with all modern communication, rescue, and fire equipment.

Police protection for Alberton is provided through a contract with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The RCMP detachment is located in Rosebank, just eight kilometers from downtown Alberton. The RCMP provides all types of policing services from Community Based Policing Programs to criminal investigation.

Emergency ambulance service for all of Prince Edward Island is provided by Island EMS. They offer 24-hour emergency service and have a base located on Church Street in downtown Alberton.
