The Mayor of Alberton is the chief elected official of Alberton. His duties include chairing all regular and special town council meetings. The mayor does not vote on motions presented at the town council meetings unless there is a tie.

Mayor Micheal Murphy was elected in the 2009 General Election and began his term in office on 16 November, 2009. This is his first term as mayor.
