The public is advised that Main Street, between Church Street and Poplar Street, will be closing to vehicle traffic for Alberton Days festivities on Friday, 27 July, 2007. This section of Main Street will be blocked off from 12:00PM to approximately 11:00PM.

Detour Options
Motorists travelling south on Main Street (driving from Huntley) can turn left or right on to Church Street upon reaching the closed section of Main Street. If turning left, you can then turn right on to Central Street, then right on to Poplar Street, and then turn left on to Main Street to avoid the closed off section of Main Street. If turning right on to Church Street, you can then turn left on to Albion Street, then left on to Poplar Street, and finally turn right on to Main Street to avoid the closed section of Main Street.

Motorists travelling north on Main Street (driving from Northport) can turn left or right on to Poplar Street upon reaching the closed section of Main Street. If turning left, you can then turn right on to Albion Street, then turn right on to Church Street, and finally turn left on to Main Street to avoid the closed section of Main Street. If turning right, you can then turn left on to Central Street, then left on to Church Street, and finally turn right on to Main Street to avoid the closed section of Main Street.

The Town of Alberton regrets any inconvenience this may cause to the travelling public.

1:00pm- Pony Rides Begins, Main Street Alberton by John MacDonald

2:30pm- Youth Pie Eating Contest, Main Stage Alberton

2:45pm- Comedy Show, Kids are urged to show up and tell their best joke and we will have ballots to fill out and whoever has the most votes will win.

3:00pm- Official Opening of Alberton Day

3:00pm- Kids Games Main Street Alberton with Alberton Recreation Fun Group Staff.

3:00pm- Live Entertainment Begins with Kevin Kelly and Claude Fredrickson.

3:00pm- Chalk Drawing Contest Alberton Library.

3:30pm- Pie Auction Main Stage, Money Raised will be donated to Alberton Mural Committee. Participants in the auction are Jeff Ellsworth, Perry Morrell, Bonnie Murphy and many more.

3:45pm- Kids Pots and Pans Parade Show Up with your equipment that makes the most noise and parade around Main Street, Theme is Summer Active Wear.

3:50pm- Busting of Town Pinata Tons of treats to pour out.

4:00pm- Alberton Strong Man Demonstration with Alex Wallace and Chris Harper. Come out and watch them pull a fire truck on Main Street as well as play tire hockey with a 1200 lbs tire and more.

5:00pm- 1000 Water Balloons to be busted. Town Youth vs Alberton Recreation Staff in a Water Balloon Dodgeball Tournament. Main Street Alberton.

6:00pm- Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader Main Stage Alberton, Jason Milligan First Contestant and will have 2 more to follow. Sponsored by CIBC.

7:00pm- Youth Webkinz Hunt Through Main-street, get your first clue from Jeff on Main Street. Sponsored by Pridhams V&S.
