Western Hospital
Western Hospital is the community hospital in Alberton and the principal acute care facility in West Prince. It is a 25-bed acute care, 2 bed pallative care facility providing out-patient, in-patient, physiotherapy, laboratory and radiology services. Other medical services available in Alberton include homecare, occupational therapy, addictions services, mental health services, public health services, nutritional consultation, etc.

Family Physicians
There are several doctors in Alberton that provide the services of a Family Physician. For more information, contact the Provincial Physician Patient Registry.

Optometrist
Several optometrists are available to offer their services in Alberton.

Dentist
Dental services are available in the nearby communities of O'Leary and Tignish which are only a short driving distance from Alberton.

Mental Health
The Canadian Mental Health Association operates Hope Centre Clubhouse to assist the community with multiple services.

Maplewood Manor
Maplewood Manor is a provincially operated, 48-bed, long term care facility which offers full nursing care. Maplewood Manor also provides day programs and respite care.

Rev. W.J. Phillips Residence
The Rev. W.J. Phillips Residence is a licensed community care facility for Seniors. The Phillips Residence also provides assisted independent living apartments with services such as housekeeping, meals and laundry. Social/recreational activities, transportation to appointments, and community programs are also provided.

Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels has a list of volunteers who take turns delivering meals to people who may not be able to cook for themselves for various reasons. Meals are cooked at Maplewood Manor and are delivered five days a week.

Transportation West
Transportation West will provide accessible transportation to individuals who have special needs, are limited in their mobility and lack access to transportation.

You might also be interested in the services of Kids West. Kids West is a non-profit organization that offers family focus programs and services that provide support resources, training and information for parents and their children (ages 0-6 years) in the West Prince Area. All services are free of charge.

Full service pharmacies are centrally located on Main Street and Poplar Street to fill your prescription and medical needs.
